Day 1: Short and curly

America's Next Top Model winner Eva Pigford is the queen of short and curly styles. A lot of people would love to rock this classy style, but they feel like they don't have the right hair. I can be the first to tell you that my hair is nothing like Eva's and I can pull it off. Here is my first how to, to creating those effortless curls...

Step 1: Wash your hair while you're in the shower. Stand with your back to the nozzle. This is important because if you wash your hair in the sink or facing the nozzle that's the way your hair is going to flow. We want those curls flowing backwards.

Step 2: Apply conditioner and comb it through with a wide tooth comb. Let the conditioner sit in for about 5-10 minutes. before rinsing it out. For best result use a plastic cap.

Step 3: Towel blot your hair dry by putting your hair in the towel and squeezing. It should feel like you're grabbing your hair (almost like you pull someone's hair out). Make sure all hair is going backwards.

Step 4: Apply a leave-in conditioner. Leave-in conditioners help protect your hair and creates a curl. Do not comb it through.

Step 5: It might not look promising at this point, but stick with it. Continue to scrunch your hair in your fist as it dries. When you start to see the curl pattern you desire spray some holding spray to lock those curls. Continue this step until your whole head is to your liking. Make sure the curls are even all the way across your head.

Step 6: Use the blow dryer on low/cool to help dry the holding spray faster. If the curls are too close to your head, use a wide tooth comb at the base of your curls and gently lift the curls to your desired height. Spray a little holding spray to hold that height and you are finished.

Here is my go at it...

I hope you were successful!! Signing out...amERICAnhair
